What Reverb is
Reverb is a music player for iPhone with two retro looks: a pocket player you scroll with a wheel, and a hi-fi deck with a glowing display and a knob. It plays full songs through Apple Music if you subscribe, and 30-second previews if you don't. Your likes and playlists sync through your own iCloud, and the Radio builds stations from the artists you like.
Reverb is free to use. Reverb Pro is an optional one-time purchase that unlocks more looks.
Questions
Do I need Apple Music?
No. Without a subscription, Reverb plays a 30-second preview of each song. With an Apple Music subscription, it plays full songs, and it can show your Apple Music playlists and liked songs (you can turn those on or off in Reverb's Settings). Apple Music is a separate subscription from Apple; Reverb Pro doesn't include it.
I subscribe to Apple Music, but songs still stop after 30 seconds.
Make sure Reverb is allowed to use Apple Music: open the Settings app, go to Privacy & Security › Media & Apple Music, and turn on Reverb. Reverb's own Settings › Apple Music shows what it sees. A song can also play as a preview when it isn't available on Apple Music in your country or region.
How do I restore Reverb Pro?
In Reverb, open Settings, choose the Reverb Pro row, then Restore Purchase, while signed in to the same Apple Account you bought it with. You only pay once; restoring is free.
How do I add my own music?
In Reverb, choose Music › Import Music… and pick songs from the Files app (MP3, AAC, ALAC, WAV, AIFF or FLAC). You can also drop songs into Reverb's folder in the Files app or Finder, under On My iPhone › Reverb › Music. Songs you import stay on your iPhone. Find them under Music › Imported Music, by song, album or artist, and add them to any playlist.
How do I change a song's cover or info?
Reverb finds album art for imported songs by itself when Apple's catalog has the album. To use your own photo instead, press and hold the center button on the song, then choose Cover Art › Choose Photo… (or Photo for Album… for the whole album). Edit Song Info in the same place fixes a song's title, artist or album.
How do I delete my data?
In Reverb, open Settings › Delete Account & Data. It erases everything Reverb stored on your iPhone and in your iCloud. To also disconnect Reverb from your Apple Account, open the Settings app, tap your name, then Sign-In & Security › Sign in with Apple, choose Reverb, and follow the steps. The privacy policy has the details.
Why can't I change the audio quality?
Full songs play through Apple Music, so they use the quality you picked for Apple Music on your iPhone: open the Settings app and go to Apps › Music › Audio Quality. Apps like Reverb can't change that setting. Previews always play at one fixed quality.
My library isn't showing up on my other device.
Reverb syncs your library through iCloud. Check that both devices are signed in to iCloud with the same Apple Account, and that iCloud is turned on for Reverb (Settings app › your name › iCloud). New changes can take a few minutes to arrive.
Your privacy
Reverb has no servers, no ads and no tracking. Your library stays on your iPhone and in your own iCloud. Everything is spelled out in the privacy policy.
